4. Lawful bases for processing

Personal data is processed under one or more of the following lawful bases:

6. CCTV at the Tattoo Atelier

The Tattoo Atelier uses CCTV for studio security, the prevention and detection of crime, incident review, and the protection of clients, visitors, staff, property, and health and safety where reasonably necessary. The lawful basis relied upon for this processing is legitimate interests. CCTV footage is accessed only by authorised persons where there is a legitimate operational reason to do so and may be shared, where lawful and necessary, with insurers, professional advisers, law enforcement, regulators, or emergency services. Footage is stored securely and is normally retained for up to 14 days, unless it is required for an incident, investigation, insurance matter, or legal process, in which case it may be retained for longer for that purpose. Further information is available in the Tattoo Atelier CCTV Notice

7. Sharing of information

Personal data may be shared only where reasonably necessary and only with appropriate parties, including website, form, booking, payment, analytics, or email service providers; accountants, legal advisers, or insurers; and regulators, courts, law enforcement, emergency services, or other authorities where required by law or necessary to protect health or safety.

Personal data is not shared with third parties for unrelated promotional use.

8. International transfers

Some service providers may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where that occurs, reasonable steps are taken to ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place so that personal data remains protected in accordance with applicable data protection law.

9. Data retention

Personal data is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including where retention is required for legal, accounting, insurance, regulatory, safety, evidential, or dispute-resolution purposes.

General enquiries are kept only as long as needed to respond and manage any related follow-up. Mailing list information is kept until you unsubscribe or the list is retired. Payment and transaction records are retained as required for accounting and legal purposes. Tattoo consultation, consent, appointment, and related safety records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to protect both client and studio and to meet legal or insurance requirements. Health information is retained only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, after which it is securely deleted or anonymised where appropriate.

10. Data security

Reasonable technical and organisational measures are in place to protect personal data from unauthorised access, misuse, loss, alteration, or disclosure.

These measures may include secure HTTPS website access, restricted access to personal data, the use of trusted third-party providers for payments and site operations, and appropriate internal controls over the handling of personal information.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but appropriate steps are taken to reduce risk.
